Further out 

If you're after tropical adventures, just take your pick. Explore bamboo gardens and boardwalks at Cairns Botanical Gardens – the kids will love the nature playground. Or enjoy a 25-minute drive into the lush surrounding valleys and freshwater dip at Crystal Cascades.
